Book Synopsis

Adrift in a lifeboat with strangers, each holding a deep secret…

Leah Taylor prefers the quiet adventure and romance of books, but during a cruise with her parents, a terrorist attack leaves her adrift in a lifeboat with strangers. Together they face danger after danger as they fight for survival. Leah also struggles with the growing attention from the men she’s stranded with, and her mixed emotions toward them.

When Leah learns the dark secrets her fellow survivors hold, the truth will blow apart any semblance of civility and test Leah’s preconceived notions of just how far dedication can go before it crosses over into fanaticism.

Book Review

I read this book in just over 24 hours because it was addictive therefore I gave it five stars out of 5.  It was so addictive because of the story being based around a terrorist attack on a cruise ship and the aftermath of it.

Leah Taylor a shy sixteen year old girl who prefers the quite adventure and romance of books to personal adventure but during her time on the Island following the terrorist attack on the cruise ship she develops into a more confident and stronger girl. She also finds love with one of the other Characters an Arabic Boy called Musir. The developing love story between Leah and Musir after the other two characters Blue McCree and Kent Carson who were stranded with them left.

Musir an Arabic boy from Syria was a shy, reserved and unhappy individual until he and Leah started falling in love after Blue McCree and Kent Carson left the island because he becomes more secure, confident person. This happens because he slowly but surely opens up to Leah about his past.

Book Synopsis

Zombies for Young Adults!
Sometimes bullets aren’t enough!

Alone and on her own, fifteen-year-old Sam Grace must fight her way through the horrors of a city overrun with hundreds of thousands of the living dead. However, the zombies are the least of her worries. Who can she trust? Is there anyone left to help when her bullets run out? Where can she escape to?

Review

I have given this book 5stars out of 5 because it gripped me from beginning to end so I would and will recommend it to others. As you got in to the book I loved the way Scott gave some of the back story of the family through flash backs that Sam has.

The descriptions of the characters and scenes in the book were grate and really made you feel like you were part of the story. I loved the character developments for both Sam and Brandon, especially their developing love story.

The way Scott described the way the Zombies looked and moved was amazing because it meant that I was able to imagine being one.

With the way that the book finished I have to say that I feel that it could have been part of a duology because it would have been lovely to see how the love story between Sam & Brandon developed, how Brandon and his Sister Ally settled in to life on the Messa as well as how Sam’s mothers character developed more from being a seriously Ill woman in bed to being back to being the centre of the Family again

That is, unless he listens to the one thing he has refused to acknowledge throughout his existence – his feelings for Nesy. Blind to both angel and demon, Aydan and Zane must now figure out the truth behind Nesy’s identity before all is lost, Azza discovers the truth and the Beast is again unleashed. **The special second edition includes the Requiem Shorts Mea Culpa and Enigma.** Book 3: Dominus

Book Review

5 stars of of 5

Started Reading:  January 18th 20114                              Finished Reading: January 22nd 2014

Airicka’s writing style is fabulous as it draws you in immediately and keeps you hooked all the way through the book because it makes you feel like you are actually part of the story. I loved this book as soon as I started reading it and it just got better and better as it went on. The main characters (Isaiah , Fallon and Fallon’s Mum) were grate and the Idea of Fallon being created to be a weapon was a really interesting one.

The Love Story between Fallon and Isaiah is a good one although I am not sure I like the idea that their love is in fact genetically engineered into them & will ultimately kill them. I am sure the whole story is going to develop more as the series goes on.

The Character of Garrison the man who created Fallon and Isaiah is a really interesting one because you know that he is a really dark, evil mad scientist type but there are flashes of a really caring person but hes so obsessed with trying to create the Ultimate Human/weapon.

With Fallon you feel really sorry for her because of the dreams she has, the powers that she starts to develop and the fact that she looses her mum so believes she is an Orphan until Isaiah tells her that her father is still alive.

   Book Synopsis
It’s the first thing they teach you when you start school. But they don’t need to; your parents tell you when you’re first learning how to say your name. It’s drummed into you whilst you’re taking your first stumbling steps. It’s your lullaby. From the moment it first appears, you don’t tell anyone the name on your wrist.

In Corin’s world, your carpinomen – the name of your soul mate, marked indelibly on your wrist from the age of two or three – is everything. It’s your most preciously guarded secret; a piece of knowledge that can give another person ultimate power over you. People spend years, even decades, searching for the one they’re supposed to be with.

But what if you never find that person? Or you do, but you just don’t love them? What if you fall for someone else – someone other than the name on your wrist?

And what if – like Corin – the last thing in the world you want is to be found?

The gripping debut novel from the winner of the inaugural Sony Young Movellist Award.
